To investigate the real-world burden of constipation among patients with cardiovascular disease through an internet-based survey, including the prevalence and severity of constipation, its impact on quality of life (QOL) and work productivity and activity impairment (WPAI), and current treatment patterns.

In Japan, data on the burden of constipation among patients with cardiovascular disease remain limited. Therefore, this internet-based survey was conducted to clarify the prevalence and severity of constipation, its impact on quality of life (QOL), and current treatment patterns among patients with cardiovascular disease.

Primary outcomes
Descriptive statistics, including frequencies (counts and percentages) and summary statistics (mean, standard deviation, and median), were calculated. Stratified analyses according to patient characteristics were conducted, and factors associated with constipation were explored.
