Results

The effects of bilateral parietal tACS on postural control differed depending on stimulation frequency and sensory condition. Twenty-Hz tACS significantly reduced anteroposterior postural sway during the eyes-closed foam condition and postural sway during the eyes-closed head-shaking-on-foam condition, whereas 40-Hz tACS significantly increased anteroposterior postural sway during the eyes-closed foam condition.

Baseline Characteristics

Ten right-handed healthy young adults

Participant flow

Ten participants were enrolled. All participants completed the four stimulation conditions (sham, 10 Hz, 20 Hz, and 40 Hz) in a randomized order and were included in the analysis.

Adverse events

None

Outcome measures

Total sway path length (SPL), anteroposterior sway path length (AP-SPL), and mediolateral sway path length (ML-SPL).
