In modern society, prolonged use of smartphones and personal computers has been associated with forward head posture, including so-called straight neck, poor posture, and related physical complaints such as neck and shoulder discomfort and low back pain. These symptoms, which may contribute to presenteeism, have become an important health concern not only among middle-aged and older adults but also among otherwise healthy young adults. Regular physical activity is important for the prevention and improvement of these conditions; however, the proportion of individuals who maintain recommended levels of physical activity remains low. Furthermore, sex differences have been reported in preferences for different types of exercise and factors associated with exercise adherence, including the popularity of yoga among women and a preference for resistance training among men.
The purpose of this study is to investigate sex-related differences in the perceived suitability (fit) and immediate effects of different types of exercise. Healthy young adults will participate in two exercise programs: motor control exercise (MCE), focusing on functional trunk stability and postural control, and yoga, focusing on flexibility and mental well-being. Using a randomized crossover design, this study will compare the immediate and short-term effects of the two exercise programs on physical outcomes, including flexibility, posture, and trunk function, as well as psychological outcomes, including perceived comfort, willingness to continue the exercise, and stress levels.
Efficacy
Perceived suitability (fit) of the exercise programs
After completing the yoga and motor control exercise (MCE) programs, participants will rate the extent to which each exercise program feels suitable for their body and matches their personal preferences using a 4-point scale.
Willingness to continue the exercise; subjective physical sensations (feeling of body looseness, ease of joint and body movement, and perceived improvement in posture and ease of body extension); mood and emotional state (feeling refreshed and mentally relaxed); physical symptoms (low back pain/discomfort, shoulder pain, shoulder stiffness, neck pain, neck stiffness, and physical fatigue); and physical and motor function (body weight, body alignment, trunk muscle thickness, flexibility, balance, and respiratory function). Changes in physical symptoms will be assessed before and after each exercise intervention.

Participants will perform one 20-minute session of a yoga exercise program during the first intervention period. After a two-week washout period, they will perform one 20-minute session of a motor control exercise (MCE) program during the second intervention period.

Male and Female
Men and women aged 18-29 years who are enrolled at or employed by the university and who provide voluntary informed consent to participate in the study after receiving a sufficient explanation of the study.
1.Individuals currently receiving treatment for psychiatric, neurological, musculoskeletal, or other conditions, or those with current symptoms or a medical history that may interfere with exercise.
2.Individuals who are pregnant or may be pregnant.
3.Individuals who have regularly practiced yoga, core training, Pilates, or similar exercises within the past three months.
