Adults aged 20 or older
Provided informed consent
Able to understand Japanese
Engaged in horse racing at least once in the past month
Key exclusion criteria
individuals who were currently receiving treatment for gambling problems and had been advised by their attending physician to refrain from participating in the study; individuals who would have difficulty completing the survey without assistance from others during participation; and individuals who withdrew their consent to the purpose of the study.

This study aims to clarify the characteristics of end-session high-stakes betting behavior, defined as large and high-risk bets placed toward the end of a gambling session, by collecting actual one-day betting data from publicly operated gambling settings, particularly horse racing, covering approximately 10 races.
