The purpose of this study is to perform omics analyses, including mRNA and protein analyses, using samples collected without additional invasive procedures from patients with retinal diseases requiring treatment with intravitreal injection (e.g., age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, retinal vein occlusion, and neovascular glaucoma), in order to contribute to the development of future therapeutic and preventive strategies.

In the treatment of retinal diseases with intravitreal injections, anterior chamber paracentesis may be performed when intraocular pressure adjustment is considered necessary. The excess aqueous humor expelled during this procedure is usually discarded; however, in this study, it will be collected and stored with the patient's consent and subjected to biochemical analyses, including metabolomic analysis. Through these analyses, we aim to deepen the understanding of the molecular pathophysiology of retinal diseases and obtain knowledge that may contribute to the development of future therapeutic and preventive strategies.
