The objective of this study is to develop a scale that can effectively measure the attitudes toward sexuality held by nurses and care workers who provide support to individuals with severe physical disabilities aged 12 to 49 years old.

Primary outcomes

77 items: 23 items on caregivers' perceptions of sexual development in children and adults with severe physical and mental disabilities (Obara, 2005), and 54 items addressing attitudes toward the sexuality of children and adults with severe physical disabilities. The scale was developed through a review of domestic and international literature and pretesting.

Key secondary outcomes

24 items of the nurses' perceptions of sexual development in children and adults with severe physical and mental disabilities (Ohara, 2005) and 15 items of the Revised Scale of Ethical Behavior for Nurses (Ode, 2019)

The objective of this study is to develop a scale that measures the attitudes of nurses and care workers toward the sexuality of individuals with severe physical disabilities. The study's participants comprised 45 nurses and 45 care workers with experience supporting children and adults with severe physical disabilities aged 12 years or older and under 50 years. An online questionnaire was administered, covering fundamental attributes, the developed Attitude Scale toward the Sexuality of Children and Adults with Severe Physical Disabilities, general items selected from the Nurses' Perceptions of Sexual Development in Children and Adults with Severe Physical and Mental Disabilities, and the Revised Scale of Ethical Behavior for Nurses.
