The purpose of this study is to compare the immediate effects of multiple hand-warming behaviors that can be performed by nurses prior to hand hygiene on physiological indicators, such as hand skin temperature and blood flow, as well as subjective indicators, such as thermal sensation.

| Behavior,custom | Maneuver |
Standard alcohol-based hand hygiene.
Hand rubbing for 10 seconds prior to standard hand hygiene.
Hand warming using a portable hand warmer preheated to approximately 50 C for 30 seconds prior to standard hand hygiene.
Proximal warming using an elbow warmer preheated to approximately 48 C for 15 minutes prior to standard hand hygiene.

1. Adult women aged 18 to under 40 years
2. Able to maintain a resting posture during measurements
3. Able to understand the study and provide written informed consent
1. History of cardiovascular or peripheral circulatory disorders that may affect circulation
2. Regular use of medications affecting the autonomic nervous system
3. Skin disorders or sensitivity of the hands or forearms that may interfere with alcohol-based hand hygiene or measurements
4. Pregnant women
