Relationship between brain activity and neural pathways during muscle contraction and relaxation in patients with stroke
Stroke Study
Relationship between motor cortical excitatory and inhibitory dynamics during muscle contraction and relaxation and the corticospinal tract in patients with stroke: An EEG ERD/ERS and MRI structural analysis study
EEG Study in Patients with Stroke
| Japan |
stroke
| Rehabilitation medicine |
Others
NO
To clarify the relationship between the corticospinal tract and the central neural mechanisms underlying muscle contraction relaxation impairments associated with corticospinal tract damage.
Safety,Efficacy
Event-related desynchronization (ERD) and event-related synchronization (ERS) of EEG will be measured within 1-6 months after stroke onset.
Observational
| 20 | years-old | <= |
| 100 | years-old | >= |
Male and Female
Patients with first-ever stroke and unilateral lesions admitted to the convalescent rehabilitation ward of Inokuchi Hospital.
Patients with a history of orthopedic disorders affecting upper limb movement or neurological disorders other than cerebrovascular disease, those with cerebellar ataxia, those with severe cognitive impairment, those with a history of psychiatric disorders, those with scalp conditions interfering with EEG measurement, those who declined participation in the study, those who were transferred to another hospital or died due to acute exacerbation, and those who developed a new stroke during the study period.
