With increasing demand for gastrointestinal endoscopy, work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) among endoscopy professionals have been increasingly reported. However, comprehensive global data on WMSDs, work practices, work environment, and the implementation of educational/preventive measures remain limited. Therefore, in collaboration with the World Endoscopy Organization (WEO), this international cross-sectional survey aims to elucidate the current status of WMSDs and work environment among gastrointestinal endoscopists and to provide a foundation for prevention strategies and international comparisons.
Others
1. To estimate the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs, WMSDs) among gastrointestinal endoscopists (primary objective).
2. To describe current work environment and preventive/ergonomic practices, including education and prevention measures.
3. To identify factors associated with MSDs among gastrointestinal endoscopists (secondary objective).
4. To enable international comparisons by collecting multi-country data under a unified survey framework.
12-month prevalence of endoscopy-related musculoskeletal symptoms (pain/discomfort/numbness) among gastrointestinal endoscopists, assessed by a structured web-based questionnaire.
