Key inclusion criteria

Seven inclusion criteria were established:
(1) original research articles written in English;
(2) intervention studies or cohort studies addressing interventions;
(3) explicit reference indicating the involvement of occupational therapists in the intervention;
(4) participants included children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders, with no children diagnosed with conditions other than NDD;
(5) outcomes measured in children aged 18 years or younger at the start of the study;
(6) explicit mention of participation as an outcome; and
(7) outcome measurement tools assessed domains corresponding to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) participation/activity codes d5 (Self-care), d6 (Domestic life), d7 (Interpersonal interactions and relationships), d8 (Major life areas), or d9 (Community, social and civic life).
