This randomized controlled trial aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Supervisor Training in reducing stigma toward mental health problems.
Efficacy
Stigma toward mental health problems will be measured at three time points (baseline, post-intervention, and 2-month follow-up) using the Japanese version of the Link Stigma Scale (Shimotsu, 2006).
1. Knowledge regarding mental health problems
2. Attitudes toward mental health problems
3. Behavior toward individuals with mental health problems
4. Mental health literacy
5. Social distance
6. Psychological safety
All measures will be assessed at three time points:
- Before random allocation
- Immediately after the intervention
- Two months post-intervention

This study aims to reduce stigma associated with mental health problems in the workplace. A 120-minute face-to-face training session will be implemented as the intervention. The target participants are supervisors, and the program is structured to specifically address stigma related to depression. The contents of the training program are as follows:
- The role of managerial staff in Supervisor Training
- Knowledge of mental health problems such as depression
- Approaches to supporting employees experiencing mental health problems
- Viewing an interview video in which a person in remission from depression shares their recovery experience
