Objectives

Narrative objectives1

Lifestyle habits such as smoking, drinking, diet, exercise, and sleep are widely known to be risk factors for cancer. However, it is not uncommon for people to wish to improve these habits but find that this is not possible. This study examines the effectiveness of psychotherapy completed in one to three interviews on improving lifestyle habits in elementary and junior high school teachers, a profession that has recently been given particular attention for its need for work style reform. In addition to lifestyle habits, measures of stress in the work environment are obtained, and a small series of cases are examined in detail.
