This study aims to conduct a scoping review of the existing literature to identify and map the barriers to preschool and school re-entry among children diagnosed with childhood cancer. The review will organize these barriers according to different stakeholders such as the children themselves, their caregivers, childcare workers, school personnel, and healthcare providers to provide an overall picture of the obstacles involved. Furthermore, this review will identify research gaps and clarify future research directions. The study is expected to contribute to the accumulation of knowledge that supports the smooth reintegration of children with cancer into educational and childcare settings.

This scoping review aims to comprehensively identify and map the barriers to preschool and school reentry among children with childhood cancer based on the existing literature. The term barriers refers to factors reported as obstacles to re-entry from the perspectives of the children themselves, their caregivers, childcare workers, and healthcare providers. The outcomes considered in this study are descriptions of difficulties or challenges related to re-entry; causal relationships will not be examined.
This review will be conducted in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Literature searches will be conducted using the following databases: Ichushi Web version 5, CiNii, PubMed, and CINAHL. After removing duplicate records, two independent reviewers will screen the studies. Disagreements will be resolved through discussion with a third reviewer until consensus is reached.
