Basic objectives -Others

Constipation is a digestive disorder with a high prevalence rate in Japan, and it has been reported to impair quality of life and work productivity by causing abnormalities in bowel movements. On the other hand, it is assumed that many patients do not seek medical attention or receive appropriate treatment due to various factors such as embarrassment. Additionally, while numerous treatment methods exist and treatment scenarios vary widely, the actual state of treatment in Japan is not yet fully understood. Although guidelines for constipation treatment have been published in recent years, the concept of Shared Decision Making (SDM) is also emphasized in treatment selection, and it is essential to clearly identify treatment needs and concerns. Therefore, this study will use an internet-based questionnaire survey to investigate the actual state of constipation, treatment conditions, treatment needs, and concerns.
