This study aimed to investigate the impact of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) on work resilience among restaurant and hotel workers in tourism zones in Nigeria.

The intervention group received a 12-session workplace training manual known as the ACT program. This program aimed to enhance the psychological flexibility of restaurant and hotel workers with low resilience.
Participants in the active control group received traditional counseling on work-life (placebo), which also lasted for 12 sessions.

Those interested were screened for eligibility based on inclusion criteria:
1. Scoring above a certain threshold on the dependent measure
2. Being a staff member at a restaurant or hotel
3. Willingness to participate
4. Having worked at a restaurant or hotel for over a year
Exclusion criteria included:
1. Not meeting the threshold score
2. Participation in other psychological interventions
3. Receiving clinical or non-clinical interventions in the past year
4. Being subject to corporal punishment or having a letter of inquiry at work
