To translate the ISNCSCI and PASIPD into Japanese using a translation process that takes into account linguistic validity, and to investigate the reliability and validity of its assessment methods in people with spinal cord injury.
Efficacy
Japanese version of the ISNCSCI, Japanese version of the PASIPD

Male and Female
(1) Those who have injured their cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spinal cord
(2) Those who are at least 18 years of age at the time of consent
(3) Those who can give verbal consent to participate in this study.
(1) History/comorbidities
Complications of brain injury
Joint immobilization, significant pain, joint contracture greater than 50% of normal ROM, fracture, or burn that would affect the outcome of the ISNCSCI evaluation
Neurological deficits not attributable to spinal cord injury (e.g., peripheral nerve palsy, brain nerve disease, demyelinating neurological disease, etc.)
Significant muscle weakness present prior to injury
Uncontrolled or severe medical, neoplastic, psychiatric, infectious, or musculoskeletal disease that would interfere with the performance of the evaluation
Dementia or a high probability of cognitive decline

We will assess individuals with spinal cord injury using the Japanese versions of the ISNCSCI and PASIPD, which were developed by translating the original English versions through a linguistically validated translation process. To evaluate reliability, two independent raters will conduct the same assessment on the same day (or on different days), and the degree of agreement between their results will be compared. To assess validity, additional evaluations related to walking ability, physical activity levels, and activities of daily living (ADL) will be performed and used for analysis.
The following information will be collected:
1) Participant Characteristics
Age, sex, height, and weight
Information related to spinal cord injury (date of injury and surgery, cause of injury, time since injury, neurological level of injury)
Other medical history: past medical history, comorbidities
2) Physical Assessments
Japanese version of ISNCSCI (done twice)
Japanese version of PASIPD (done twice)
Assessments of walking ability, physical activity levels, and ADL
