(1) Studies that explore motivations for participation and challenges faced by Simulated Patients (SPs) in healthcare education settings
(2) Studies that examine the educational impacts of Simulated Patients in the field of nursing
(3) Studies published in Japanese or English

Key exclusion criteria

(1)Studies that do not address motivations or challenges as perceived by Simulated Patients themselves.
(2)Studies in which Simulated Patients are used in non-healthcare contexts, such as legal training, theater education, or market research.
(3)Conference abstracts, book chapters, poster presentations, and other publications for which the content cannot be verified as a peer-reviewed article.
(4)Case studies, discussion papers, case reports, commentary articles, editorials, or expert opinions.

This study will be conducted using the following databases and search strategy. Screening and data extraction will be performed independently by two researchers, with supervision by a third researcher if necessary.

As this study is based solely on existing literature, it does not require approval from an institutional review board. All literature will be collected and analyzed appropriately in accordance with research ethics.
