The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-based intervention on enhancing motivation, increasing engagement in physical activity, improving motor competence, and boosting physical performance among physically inactive female adolescent students. This research aims to explore whether psychological flexibility fostered through ACT can serve as an effective approach to promote healthier, more active lifestyles in this population, ultimately contributing to improved physical and mental well-being.
Efficacy
Changes in motivation levels toward physical activity, measured by validated motivation questionnaires.
Increase in physical activity engagement, assessed through self-reports and/or objective activity trackers.
Improvement in motor competence, evaluated by standardized motor skill tests appropriate for adolescents.
Enhancement of physical performance, measured by fitness tests such as endurance, strength, or agility assessments.

Intervention Group:
Participants in the intervention group will undergo a structured Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-based program designed to improve psychological flexibility and promote physical activity. The program includes seven weekly sessions lasting 45 to 60 minutes each, delivered in small groups. Sessions incorporate psychoeducation, experiential exercises, metaphors, and homework assignments to encourage practice of skills between sessions. The intervention is facilitated by trained sport psychology specialists.
Control Group:
Participants in the control group will receive no intervention or will be placed on a waitlist and continue their usual activities without additional support during the study period. They will be offered the ACT program after the study concludes, if applicable.
