Participants consumed either 200 g of tart cherry juice [30 mL of tart cherry concentrate (Cherry Active) diluted with water] twice daily for 7 days before exercise and 100 minutes before exercise.

Interventions/Control_2

Participants consumed 200 g of a placebo beverage [0.38 g of flavored drink powder (Kool-Aid) diluted with water and supplemented with 27.8 g of maltodextrin] twice daily for 7 days before exercise and 100 minutes before exercise.

Key inclusion criteria

Male students enrolled at Toyo University or healthy men aged 18 years or older who regularly engage in endurance training.

Key exclusion criteria

Individuals with a history of hypertension or cardiovascular disease
Current or former smokers
Individuals who regularly consume supplements containing antioxidants
