This study aims to clarify the learning stage characteristics (achievement and tasks) of clinical reasoning for occupational therapy students and occupational therapists.
Others
We will conduct an observational study using the self-assessment scale of clinical reasoning in occupational therapy (SA-CROT) on occupational therapy students and therapists to clarify their learning stage characteristics (achievements and challenges) in clinical reasoning.

This study will use a cross-sectional survey (observational study).
The selection process for study subjects is as follows. For occupational therapy students, the researcher will select a training school from the list of training schools of the Japanese Occupational Therapist Association by the opportunity method. The researcher will use a request form to request the head of the occupational therapy department of the selected training school, and if cooperation is obtained in distributing the instructions, students belonging to that training school will be the target. For young occupational therapists, the researcher and co-researcher will select a facility by the opportunity method. The researcher will use a request form to request the head of the occupational therapy department of the selected facility, and if cooperation is obtained in distributing the instructions, occupational therapists belonging to that facility and who meet the criteria for study subjects will be the target.
The survey contents for occupational therapy students are (1) basic information such as ID, age, training school category, grade, and clinical training experience, and (2) SA-CROT. SA-CROT is a self-assessment scale of clinical reasoning consisting of 14 items and a 5-point scale (Maruyama et al., 2022). In addition, the SA-CROT has been verified to have structural validity, hypothesis testing, reliability, and test-retest reliability by surveying occupational therapy students and occupational therapists (Maruyama et al., 2022).
The survey contents for occupational therapists consisted of (1) basic information such as ID, age, gender, years of experience, and field, and (2) the SA-CROT. Each response took approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
