The aim of this study is to examine the prevalence and characteristics of sarcopenia and obesity in Japanese diabetic patients.

The prevalence of sarcopenic obesity in diabetes

Key secondary outcomes

Comprehensively examine the correlation between the following items;
Red blood cell count, white blood cell count, white blood cell differential, platelet count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, Total protein, albumin, AST, ALT, gamma GTP, BUN, Cre, estimated GFR (eGFR), glucose, free T3, free T4, TSH, C-peptide, uric acid, BNP, hydroxybutyric acid, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglyceride, HbA1c, Urinary albumin / creatinine rate, L-FABP, urinary glucose, Pulse wave (ABI, CAVI), nerve conduction velocity test, electrocardiogram, CVR-R, Umbilical circumference, grip strength, walking speed (m/sec),In body (body composition meter): Limb skeletal muscle index (SMI), body fat percentage, body fat amount, water content, muscle mass,body weight, BMI, Systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse rate, Age, gender,Duration of diabetes, stage of retinopathy, presence or absence of neuropathy, stage of nephropathy, stage of CKD, Schellong tests, type of diabetes medication, presence or absence of hypertension, presence or absence of dyslipidemia.

Key inclusion criteria

1. The diabetes who had admitted to the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Dokkyo Medical University Hospital with diabetes treatment from January 1, 2020 to March 31,2023.

Key exclusion criteria

1.Patients whose sarcopenia could not be evaluated during hospitalization
2.Patients who had muscle wasting disease.
3.Patients who have requested refusal to participate in this study
