All patients who underwent immediate free-flap reconstruction after head and neck tumor ablative surgery at our institution between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2023.

Key exclusion criteria

(1) tumor resection performed by non-head and neck surgeons, (2) secondary reconstructions, and (3) reoperations

This retrospective observational study analyzed 354 patients who underwent free-flap reconstruction after head and neck tumor ablation. Multivariable linear regression analysis was performed to determine the risk factors for the higher value of CCI, which corresponds to more severe complications.
