Studies published in peer-reviewed journals.
Studies published as research papers which enabled to obtain a full text.
Studies published in English or Japanese.

Key exclusion criteria

Studies targeting the child and adolescent field studies
Studies targeting dementia field studies
Studies without offenders not eligible for treatment in forensic psychiatry
Studies that are not survey research.

This scoping review aims to systematically review the support methods that respect self-determination in forensic mental health care and clarify the scope of patient self-determination and the involvement of supporters.SelectionCriteria
P: Persons with a mental disorder who have committed a crime
C: Shared decision-making regarding treatment, autonomy, treatment,management,statement, statement, instruction, consent, recovery, empowerment, re-admission, arrest, criminal behavior
C: Forensic mental healthcare

Thepaper must be a peer-reviewed article, full-text available, and written in English or Japanese.
Exclusion criteria
The paper must be a researchpaper onchildren and adolescents, dementia, mentally disordered offenders who are not eligible for treatment, or without any research.
