Educational Effects of AI
Hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery | Adult |
Others
NO
An artificial intelligence (AI) system that predicts anatomical structures in real time has the potential to improve surgical anatomy education. Therefore, a randomized clinical trial is needed to compare the group educated by the AI Surgical Vision System (AISVS) (AISVS group) with the conventional method (control group).
Efficacy
Quantitative evaluation of the improvement in the concordance rate between test images annotated by medical students for the pancreatic region and ground truth images annotated by surgeons, using the Dice coefficient to assess group differences before and after practical training. The evaluation will be conducted after the completion of the training.

Medical students will observe surgical images with integrated AISVS that provides real-time enhancement of the pancreatic region. They will also receive conventional educational guidance from surgical tutors during the operation.
Students will observe the identical surgical images as those viewed by surgeons. They will also receive conventional educational guidance from surgical tutors during the operation.

Male and Female
5th year medical student
Exclusion criteria include students who have repeated an academic year, those who were absent from or unable to complete the practical training, and instances where no cases of distal gastrectomy or total gastrectomy were available during the training period.
