The results showed that older parents continue to take on a caring role for their children, even if their children live in different places, such as institutions, impacting their lives and health. Parents also had psychological difficulties associated with the transition of their children's care and living arrangements. These parents experienced anxiety about their children's future, which was compounded by their own experiences of aging and overlapping health problems and family issues.

This study will be conducted based on the Reporting Guidelines for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR).
The electronic databases used for the search were Ichushi Web and CiNii Research, and literature from 2000 years was extracted using the search formula for persons with disabilities/people with disabilities AND parents/parents OR family members AND life.
Screening in the study by two independent researchers, data extraction, and a third investigator will make decisions as needed.
The results of each document are summarized and organized.
This study is not subject to ethical review as it is a literature review. The date entered under 'Date of approval by ethics review' was the date the protocol was finalised.
