Key inclusion criteria
A systematic literature search is performed through scientific and clinical trial registries databases. The selection criteria are as follows.
P-Participant: Adults whose fasting blood sugar level is within normal to edge range (excluding those under 18, pregnant women, and lactating women, who were not suffering from any diseases).
I-Intervention: Intake of foods (capsules, tablets, drinks, foods) containing salacinol.
C-Control: Intake of a placebo that does not contain salacinol.
O-Outcome: Suppressive effect on postprandial sugar absorption (Postprandial blood sugar value, blood sugar area under the curve (AUC) and blood insulin area under the curve (AUC))
Key exclusion criteria
Studies which do not meet the key inclusion criteria will be excluded. Intervention studies without a placebo intake group are excluded.
