In recent years, locomotive syndrome has been attracting attention as the aging society progresses. Locomotive syndrome is characterized by symptoms such as muscle weakness, joint dysfunction, and worsening balance, and is associated with the decline of physical functions in the elderly. However, this syndrome has been reported to be seen not only in the elderly but also in young people. In particular, it is also believed that in today's society, the risk of developing locomotive syndrome is increasing even among young people due to lack of exercise and a sedentary lifestyle environment. On the other hand, respiratory function is essential for physical activity, and proper respiratory control is thought to contribute to improved exercise capacity. However, our understanding of the interrelationship between locomotive syndrome and respiratory function is still insufficient and clear evidence is lacking. The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between locomotive syndrome and respiratory function and lifestyle factors. Specifically, we will explore the relationship between locomotive syndrome and breathing patterns and lung function in older adults with locomotive syndrome by assessing and analyzing the results of these assessments. The results of this study are expected to be useful in understanding and appropriately managing locomotive syndrome and to contribute to the development of intervention strategies to prevent the decline of physical function in the elderly.
