The following program was held for subjects over 6 weeks. Art appreciation meetings led by an art facilitator were provided: Paintings brought into the elderly facility were enjoyed once a week. Control:Rest time.

Key inclusion criteria

People with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to moderate cognitive impairment of CDR <=2, people who can hold a conversation, people who consented to the study.

Key exclusion criteria

Visual hallucinations, severe hearing loss, severe visual impairment, unstable physical condition.

Results

Of the total of 6 sessions 13 subjects were able to participate in 4 or more sessions. and their scores before and after were intervention compared. The QOL index showing a significant increase. whereas the mean GDS score was no significant difference. Interactive art appreciation sessions in homes for elderly persons may increase the QOL of elderly residents, and further study is needed.

Baseline Characteristics

The 26 participants included 6 men and 20 women (mean age 83.9 plus or minus 2.4 years). Interactive art appreciation sessions were held at each home for elderly persons. The characteristics of the participants at each facility were 11 people and 2 people at Facilities A and B, respectively, and for all of them the dementia independence level was assessed to be independent. There were 13 subjects at Facility C, and their dementia independence level was independent in one, I in three, IIa in one, IIb in three, IIIa in two, IIIb in two, and IV in one. Of the total of six sessions, 13 subjects were able to participate in four or more sessions (Facility A, B group: eight people, Facility C: five people),
