- We included adult women in the literature that talked about their own menstrual experiences, even if they included adult women.

- Search terms: (NOT) intervention
- Qualitative research.
- Published after 2000.
- The language of the study must be English or Japanese.

We searched for qualitative studies collecting data on menstrual problems among adolescent females that were published in international or Japanese journals. Overseas literature was searched using the medical literature database PubMed, using the terms "adolescent*," "menstrua*," "dysmenorrhea*," "attitude*," "self-care," and "(NOT)intervention. Japanese-language literature was searched using the Web version of the Central Journal of Medical Science (Igaku Chuo Zasshi), using the terms "puberty," "menstruation," and "interview or interview. Publication years were limited to those after 2000 in consideration of social changes.
