This study will examine the longitudinal relationship between gaming disorder and internalizing among adolescents. The primary hypothesis is that the effect size of GD predicting internalizing will be larger than that of internalizing predicting later when measured one-year apart.

This study will examine protective and risk factors that predict the longitudinal relationship between gaming disorder and internalizing.

(1) is between the age of 16 and 18, (2) is currently enrolled in a high school, (3) can complete the questionnaire one year later, (4), play video games on a weekly basis (King, Herd, & Delfabbro, 2018), and (5) have the Japanese proficiency of a junior high school level.
