Narrative objectives1

This study will examine the longitudinal relationship between gaming disorder and internalizing among adolescents. The primary hypothesis is that the effect size of GD predicting internalizing will be larger than that of internalizing predicting later when measured one-year apart.

Key inclusion criteria

(1) is between the age of 16 and 18, (2) is currently enrolled in a high school, (3) can complete the questionnaire one year later, (4), play video games on a weekly basis (King, Herd, & Delfabbro, 2018), and (5) have the Japanese proficiency of a junior high school level.

We will recruit participants from a registered pool of a research marketing company. For examining sex differences, boys and girls will be recruited with a 1:1 ratio.
