Body weight, weight-adjusted thicknesses subcutaneous fat and abdominal cavity, and blood triglycerides in athletea group significantly increased after 6-month follow-up. The diversity of gut microbiota significantly decreased. No significant changes were observed in the control group. The change in body weight (%) in athletes significantly correlate with those of blood triglycerides (rs = 0.436) and Bacteroides (rs = -0.631).

Body fat, lean body mass, thicknesses of skeletal muscle (sum of anterior and posterior upper arm, abdomen, anterior and posterior thigh), subcutaneous fat (sum of directly above each skeletal muscle), and abdominal cavity, blood properties related to glucose and lipid metabolism, diversity of intestinal microbiota, and relative occupancy at genus level of major gut bacteria.
