Results

Improvements in self-confidence were greater in the intervention group than in the control group, in which individuals only received the written materials used in the intervention program, suggesting that this program effectively enhanced their self-confidence.
Literacy and knowledge regarding radiation also improved among the participants of this program, which can enhance their self-confidence.

Baseline Characteristics

Kindergarten teachers working in two private kindergartens in Fukushima

Participant flow

Twenty-seven workers employed at the selected kindergartens agreed to participate in the study. Participants were informed that the intervention program would be held on two separate days and that they could choose either at their convenience. Those who chose the earlier day were categorized into the intervention group, and the remaining participants formed the control group. Ten participating kindergarten teachers were assigned to the intervention group, and 17 were assigned to the control group. One control group participant who did not participate in the program was excluded from the analysis. Thus, data from 10 and 16 participants in the intervention and control groups, respectively, were analyzed.
