Trial-and-error or motor exploration has been suggested to play an important role in learning goal-directed motor behavior. It remains unclear, however, that how the exploratory behavior is regulated in humans. Here, we aim to understand such fundamental characteristics in healthy volunteers by investigating changes in motor exploration under several experimental task conditions.
