The analysis included 138 cases that visited the Municipal Fukuchiyama Hospital due to some developmental issue, birth anomaly, or disorder affecting development between April 2012 and March 2018 and underwent WISC-IV assessment. Among them, 96 subjects with FSIQ scores of 70 or above who received a diagnosis of either ASD or ADHD based on DSM-5 criteria were selected for analysis. Furthermore, they were divided into groups of subjects who received a single diagnosis without comorbidity (hereafter referred to as ASD group and ADHD group) and those who received a comorbid diagnosis of ASD and ADHD (hereafter referred to as ASD-ADHD comorbid diagnosis group). The breakdown of subjects is shown in Table 1. The ASD group consisted of 46 individuals (29 boys, 17 girls) with an average chronological age at assessment of 10 years and 4 months. The ADHD group comprised 36 individuals (32 boys, 4 girls) with an average chronological age at assessment of 10 years and 7 months. The ASD-ADHD comorbid diagnosis group included 14 individuals (13 boys, 1 girl) with an average chronological age at assessment of 10 years and 10 months. Subjects diagnosed with epilepsy or other disorders in addition to ASD or ADHD were also included in the analysis. Subjects who were assessed before the revision to DSM-5 were classified based on DSM-5 criteria after diagnosis.
We extracted 138 individuals who underwent the WISC-IV assessment. Among them, we selected 96 individuals with an FSIQ of 70 or above who received a diagnosis of either ASD or ADHD based on the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for analysis.
None
We calculated the mean, standard deviation (SD), and 95% confidence intervals for the FSIQ and the four indexes, as well as the mean and SD for the 10 subtests of the WISC-IV in each group.
