Narrative objectives1
Spinal instrumentation surgery is used to treat cervical spinal disorders. However, it has the potential risk of iatrogenic injury to the vertebral artery (VA). We investigated the incidence of anomalous vertebral artery (VA) and circle of Willis (CoW) variations as a collateral blood supplier after spinal instrumentation surgery.

Three-dimensional computed tomographic angiography was used to analyze anatomical VA and CoW variations. Perioperative and postoperative complications were recorded.
