A multiple linear regression model suggested that the contributions of sociodemographic, illness-related, and pharmacotherapy-related factors to neurocognitive impairment were limited. The disorganized component of the PANSS was related to neurocognitive impairment A negative effect of first-generation antipsychotics, compared with second-generation antipsychotics, was only seen on the Trail Making Test (TMT), but this effect was stronger than the effect of the extra pyramidal side effects or that of the anticholinergics.
