Narrative objectives1
Recent neuroimaging studies have shown that cerebellum is not only involved in motor planning and movement but is also involved in various cognitive tasks such as language processing and working memory. Our aim is to investigate the specific area of cerebellum involved in working memory (WM) and the role of WM in reading Japanese characters (kana and kanji) using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
