Malignancy
NO
To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of limited gastrectomy with dissection of lymph node stations where sentinel nodes belong in T1N0M0 gastric cancer patients with negative sentinel node biopsy.
Safety,Efficacy
We survey postoperative complications, disease recurrence, and postoperative physical conditions after this procedure.
We evaluate the sensitivity for detecting lymph node metastasis by sentinel node biopsy using frozen section.
Observational
| 18 | years-old | <= |
| 80 | years-old | > |
Male and Female
Patients with T1N0M0 gastric cancer with a tumor diameter of 4 cm or less.
Patients who meet the criteria for endoscopic treatment, women during pregnancy or the lactation period, and patients with severe comorbidity.

Although false negative results of sentinel node biopsy cannot be ignored in gastric cancer surgery, dissection of lymph node stations where sentinel node belong may minimize the possibility of leaving metastasis behind in case of negative sentinel node biopsy.
Until the end of 2008, there were no operative mortalities or morbidities. All patients undergoing the limited surgery had no lymph node metastasis by postoperative pathology, and survived without any recurrence.
