眼科医が常駐していない長崎県平戸市度島の住民を対象に眼科検診を実施し、眼疾患の早期発見および眼の健康・眼疾患に関する啓発を行うことを目的とする。

The purpose of this study is to conduct ophthalmic screening among residents of Taku-shima Island, Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture, where no ophthalmologist is permanently available, to facilitate the early detection of ocular diseases and to promote awareness of eye health and ocular diseases.

本検診は、2017年に実施した第1回眼科住民検診から約7年を経て実施する第2回検診であり、眼科所見の経時的変化についても評価する。

This is the second population-based ophthalmic screening conducted approximately seven years after the first screening in 2017, and longitudinal changes in ophthalmic findings will also be evaluated.

主要アウトカム評価項目/Primary outcomes

眼科問診および背景因子、視力、眼圧、眼表面関連検査所見、眼底写真、光干渉断層計（OCT）所見に基づく眼疾患および眼表面疾患の有病状況、ならびに2017年の第1回検診からの眼科所見の経時的変化を評価する。特に、マイボーム腺機能不全（MGD）の新規発症およびその関連因子についても評価する。

The prevalence of ocular and ocular surface diseases based on ophthalmic questionnaires and background characteristics, visual acuity, intraocular pressure, ocular surface parameters, fundus photography, and optical coherence tomography (OCT), as well as longitudinal changes in ophthalmic findings since the first screening conducted in 2017. In particular, the incidence of meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD) and factors associated with incident MGD will be evaluated.

長崎県平戸市度島に居住する6歳以上の住民で、本研究への参加について本人または代諾者から同意が得られた者。

Residents aged 6 years or older living on Taku-shima Island, Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, who provided informed consent to participate in the study themselves or through a legally authorized representative.
