To evaluate a short participatory school-based educational intervention for Opisthorchis viverrini (OV) prevention among primary and lower-secondary school students in southern Lao PDR by examining short-term changes in OV-related knowledge and attitudes, students' perceptions of a participatory skit-based activity, and practical challenges in implementing the intervention.

各教育研修セッションの直前および直後に、自己記入式アンケートを用いて測定された、タイ肝吸虫症（Opisthorchis viverrini）に関する知識および意識の変化。OVに関する知識は、感染経路、予防、感染サイクル、動物宿主、一般的な誤解、駆虫、重篤な疾患、および生魚の摂取を早期に開始することに関連するリスクについて、正誤問題を用いて評価した。OVの予防に関する態度や認識は、5段階のリッカート尺度を用いた項目によって評価された。

Changes in Opisthorchis viverrini related knowledge and attitudes measured using self administered questionnaires immediately before and after each educational training session.OV related knowledge was assessed using true or false items covering transmission, prevention, the transmission cycle, animal reservoirs, common misconceptions, deworming, severe disease, and risks associated with early initiation of raw fish consumption. Attitudes and perceptions related to OV prevention were assessed using five point Likert scale items.

参加者たちは、タイ肝吸虫症感染の予防に関する、学校を拠点とした2回の教育介入プログラムを受けました。各セッションの所要時間は約3時間でした。第1回のセッションでは、地区の教育・保健担当職員が、感染経路、症状、予防策など、OVに関する基本的な情報を提供しました。第2回のセッションでは、生徒たちはグループ活動に参加し、OV予防に関する重要なメッセージを伝える短い寸劇を制作した。寸劇の制作に先立ち、ファシリテーターが模範となる寸劇を実演し、OV予防の核心となるメッセージを確認した。その後、生徒たちはシナリオを作成し、役を割り当て、リハーサルを行い、他の参加者に寸劇を披露した。ファシリテーターは、参加校の教員および地区の保健・教育事務所の職員が務めた。

Participants received a two session school based educational intervention on Opisthorchis viverrini (OV) prevention. Each session lasted approximately 3 hours. During the first session, district education and health staff provided basic information about OV, including routes of transmission, symptoms, and preventive measures. During the second session, students participated in a group based activity to develop short skits communicating key messages about OV prevention. Before developing the skits, facilitators demonstrated a model skit and reviewed core OV prevention messages. Students then developed a scenario, assigned roles, rehearsed their performance, and presented the skits to other participants. Teachers from the participating schools and staff from district health or education offices served as facilitators.

参加対象の小学校の4年生または5年生、あるいは参加対象の中学校の1年生から3年生に在籍する生徒。
両方の教育研修セッションに参加できる生徒。
アンケートや研修資料を読み、記入できる十分な読み書き能力を持つ生徒。
グループ活動に参加できる児童。
指導活動に積極的に参加できる能力があると教師から推薦された児童。
参加校を通じて保護者または後見人から参加の許可を得ており、かつ本人が参加を辞退していない児童。
