The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of 4 weeks of continuous intake of mineral-rich water on skin condition and glycation-related indices associated with advanced glycation end products (AGEs) in women aged 50-69 years. Each participant will complete a 4-week control period during which usual lifestyle is maintained, followed by a 4-week mineral-water intervention period. Changes during the control and intervention periods will be compared within participants. Participants will be assigned to one of two groups with study initiation staggered by 2 weeks.

The primary outcome is the difference between the change in the glycation-related index associated with AGEs during the 4-week control period and the change during the subsequent 4-week mineral-water intervention period. Measurements will be performed at weeks 0, 4, and 8 for each participant. Control-period change: week 4 minus week 0. Intervention-period change: week 8 minus week 4. The primary analysis will compare the changes during the control and intervention periods within participants.

Secondary outcomes include skin texture, skin brightness, skin spots, skin aging-related indices, and skin moisture. Each outcome will be assessed at weeks 0, 4, and 8. Changes during the 4-week control period and the subsequent 4-week mineral-water intervention period will be calculated and compared within participants.

[Group A: Earlier-start group] Participants will maintain their usual diet, fluid intake, physical activity, and lifestyle for the first 4 weeks without consuming the study mineral water. No additional restriction or prescribed intake of ordinary drinking water will be imposed. After the 4-week control period, participants will consume the study mineral-rich water continuously for 4 weeks while maintaining their usual lifestyle. Skin condition and the glycation-related index associated with AGEs will be assessed at baseline, week 4, and week 8. Both groups undergo the identical control and intervention periods; only the study start timing differs by 2 weeks between groups. Planned start date: September 24, 2026. Planned end date: around November 19, 2026.
