肝硬変患者において、体組成および握力の性差による予後への影響を明らかにすること。特に、内臓脂肪と皮下脂肪の分布および握力・骨格筋量を連続変数として捉え、restricted cubic spline(RCS)を用いた非線形解析により、性別ごとのリスク構造を明確化する。

The aim of this study is to clarify the sex-specific impact of body composition and handgrip strength on prognosis in patients with liver cirrhosis. Specifically, visceral adipose tissue, subcutaneous adipose tissue, handgrip strength, and skeletal muscle mass will be analyzed as continuous variables, and restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis will be used to characterize nonlinear associations with prognosis in each sex.

腹部CTによる第3腰椎（L3）レベルでの体組成評価および握力測定のデータが利用可能で、体組成評価日から1年以上の追跡が可能であった肝硬変患者

Patients with liver cirrhosis who had available data on body composition assessed at the third lumbar vertebra (L3) level using abdominal CT and handgrip strength, and who had at least 1 year of follow-up after the body composition assessment.

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

体組成評価日（ベースライン）に悪性腫瘍（肝細胞癌を含む）を有する患者
体組成評価日（ベースライン）に腎不全またはコントロール不良の心・呼吸器疾患を有する患者
解析に必要なデータが欠落している患者
オプトアウトにより研究参加を拒否した患者

Patients with malignant tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma, at the time of body composition assessment (baseline).
Patients with renal failure or poorly controlled cardiac or respiratory disease at the time of body composition assessment (baseline).
Patients with missing data required for the analysis.
Patients who declined participation in the study through the opt-out process.

本研究は多施設共同後ろ向き観察研究である。2011年1月1日から2025年12月31日までに参加施設を受診した肝硬変患者を対象とし、腹部CTによる第3腰椎（L3）レベルで評価した体組成（骨格筋量、皮下脂肪量、内臓脂肪量）および握力と予後との関連を解析する。介入は行わず、既存の診療情報を用いて解析を実施する。

This is a multicenter retrospective observational study. Patients with liver cirrhosis who visited the participating institutions between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2025, will be included. The associations between prognosis and body composition assessed at the third lumbar vertebra (L3) level on abdominal CT (skeletal muscle mass, subcutaneous adipose tissue, and visceral adipose tissue) as well as handgrip strength will be analyzed. No intervention will be performed, and the study will use existing clinical data only.
