本研究では、筋肉の幾何学的形状の違いに着目し、MRIデータから作成した多断面再構成（MPR）画像を用いて、各筋の全体積と最も高い相関を示す「最適な代替断面」を同定することを目的とする。具体的には、放射状筋の代表として殿筋群（大殿筋・中殿筋・小殿筋）、紡錘状筋の代表として大腿筋群（大腿四頭筋・ハムストリングス等）を解析対象とする。従来の横断面に限定せず、筋線維方向に整合した断面候補を複数生成し、断面の位置・方向の組合せが体積推定精度に与える差を評価することで、形状ごとの最適断面を明らかにする。

In this study, we focus on differences in the geometric morphology of muscles and aim to identify the optimal surrogate cross-section that shows the highest correlation with total muscle volume using multiplanar reconstruction (MPR) images generated from MRI data. Specifically, the gluteal muscles (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus) will be analyzed as representative radial muscles, while the thigh muscles (e.g., quadriceps femoris and hamstrings) will be analyzed as representative fusiform muscles. Instead of limiting the analysis to conventional axial cross-sections, multiple candidate planes aligned with the muscle fiber direction will be generated. By evaluating how different combinations of plane position and orientation affect the accuracy of muscle volume estimation, the optimal surrogate cross-section for each muscle morphology will be determined.
