医学的無益性などの難しい倫理問題に直面する医療従事者が、臨床現場で起こる医療者自身の感情的反応への適切な対応、ならびにどのように患者への感情的関与を行うべきかを学ぶためのトレーニングプログラムの作成にむけ、その一部を構成するプログラムとして「医療者のためのマインドフル・セルフ・コンパッションプログラム」が、日本の医療者に対して、実現可能か、また有効性が想定されるかをパイロットスタディによって検討することを目的とする。

This pilot study aims to examine the feasibility and potential effectiveness of a Mindful Self-Compassion Program for Healthcare Professionals among Japanese healthcare professionals, as one component of a broader training program. The broader program is being developed to support healthcare professionals who encounter difficult ethical issues, including medical futility, in learning how to respond appropriately to their own emotional reactions in clinical settings and how to engage with patients emotionally in an appropriate manner.
