本研究の目的は、双極症とうつ病と精神疾患のない健常者を対象として、機能障害の臨床評価のために開発されたFAST（Functioning Assessment Short Test）を用いて、それぞれの疾患の持つ機能障害の特徴や違いなどを明らかにすることである。

The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics and differences in functional impairment associated with each disorder by using the FAST (Functioning Assessment Short Test), developed for the clinical assessment of functional impairment, in subjects with bipolar disorder, depression, and healthy individuals without mental illness.

（双極症・うつ病）埼玉医科大学病院神経精神科・心療内科・共同研究機関を受診した患者のうち研究責任者または研究実施者が参加を呼びかけた患者、およびポスター等の募集を見て自発的に応募した患者。アメリカ精神医学会が作成した「精神障害の分類と診断の手引きDiagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder第５版：DSM-5-TR」に基づいて、双極症・うつ病の診断基準を満たした患者。入院、外来は問わない。診断は臨床診断面接およびMINI(Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview)により診断する。臨床面接および構造面接MINIによりスクリーニングを行う。投薬の有無は問わない。
（健常者）ポスター等を見て自ら応募してきた者のうち、臨床面接およびMINIにより神経疾患および精神疾患があることが認められない者。

Bipolar disorder/Depression
Patients who were invited to participate by the principal investigator or study coordinator among those who visited the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine at Saitama Medical University Hospital and its affiliated research institutions, and patients who voluntarily applied after seeing recruitment posters or similar materials.Patients meeting the diagnostic criteria for bipolar disorder and depression based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition: DSM-5-TR, developed by the American Psychiatric Association.Inpatient or outpatient care is not restricted.Diagnosis is made based on clinical diagnostic interviews and the MINI (Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview).Screening is conducted using clinical interviews and the MINI structured interview.Regardless of whether medication is administered.
Healthy people
Among those who voluntarily applied after seeing posters, etc., Individuals for whom no neurological or psychiatric disorders are identified through clinical interviews and MINI.

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

日本語
（全被験者）知能指数（IQ）が70未満およびそれに準ずる教育歴（例：特別支援学校卒業など）をもつ者。認知機能能力が低い（Mini Mental Statement Examination (MMSE) ＜ 18）。その他、非常に精神症状が不安定な場合など研究担当者が被験者として適当でないと判断した場合（例：自殺未遂を繰り返しているなど）。
（健常者）MINIで精神疾患を有すると診断された者。第一度血族に精神疾患患者がいる者。抗精神病薬、抗うつ薬を継続内服した既往のある者。

All subjects
Individuals with an IQ below 70 and equivalent educational background (e.g., graduation from a special needs school).Individuals with low cognitive functioning (Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) score < 18). Other cases where the research staff deems the subject unsuitable, such as when mental symptoms are highly unstable (e.g., repeated suicide attempts).
Healthy people
Individuals diagnosed with a mental disorder.Individuals with a first-degree relative who has a mental disorder.Individuals with a history of continuous oral administration of antipsychotic or antidepressant medications.

研究の意義
今回、埼玉医科大学病院（以下当院）神経精神科・心療内科で、FASTを用いて、双極症患者とうつ病と精神疾患のない健常者を対象として、それぞれの疾患の持つ機能障害の特徴や違いなどを明かにする。各疾患の機能障害を明かにすることにより、精神疾患のリハビリテーションや機能強化を目的とした介入評価に役立つ可能性があることや、精神患者の機能に対する薬理学的及び心理社会的介入への資料として役立つことが期待できる。

Significance of the Research
This study, conducted at the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine at Saitama Medical University Hospital (hereinafter referred to as our hospital), utilizes FAST to clarify the characteristics and differences in functional impairments specific to bipolar disorder, depression, and healthy individuals without psychiatric disorders. By clarifying the functional impairments associated with each disorder, this study may contribute to the evaluation of interventions aimed at rehabilitation and functional enhancement for psychiatric disorders. It is also expected to provide valuable data for pharmacological and psychosocial interventions targeting the functional abilities of psychiatric patients.
