食道静脈瘤を有する患者に対する食道静脈瘤結紮療法（EVL）において、外来での治療と従来の入院での追加治療での有効性及び安全性等の比較検討を探索的に行う。

① 観察期間内における治療後の再発率
再発の定義：治療後の内視鏡検査において、食道静脈瘤形態F1以上、またはRC signを認めるもの。
【安全性の副次評価項目】
① 初回と2回目以降の追加治療での安全性の比較
探索的評価項目
① 患者背景と治療後の食道静脈瘤再発率、食道静脈瘤出血率や死亡率との相関
② 食道静脈瘤治療歴、食道静脈瘤出血歴による再発率の差

[Secondary Efficacy Endpoints]
1. Post-treatment recurrence rate during the observation period.
Definition of recurrence: ES morphology F1 or higher or RC sign observed on post-treatment endoscopic examination.
[Secondary Safety Endpoints]
1. Comparison of safety between initial and subsequent additional treatments.
Exploratory Endpoints
1. Correlation between patient characteristics and post-treatment esophageal variceal recurrence rate, esophageal variceal bleeding rate, and mortality rate.
2. Differences in recurrence rate due to prior esophageal variceal treatment and esophageal variceal bleeding history.

選択基準/Key inclusion criteria

以下のすべての条件に該当する患者を対象とする。
①　外来EVL群（前向き）
1） 食道静脈瘤に対しEVL治療が適応となる患者
2） 同意取得時において年齢が18歳以上の患者
3） 本研究の参加にあたり十分な説明を受けた後、十分な理解の上、患者本人の自由意思による文書同意が得られた患者
②　入院EVL群 (後ろ向き)
1) 2022年4月～2025年3月までに本施設で入院下にEVLを受けた患者

Patients who meet all of the following criteria will be included:
1. Outpatient EVL Group (Prospective)
1) Patients for whom EVL treatment is indicated for esophageal varices
2) Patients aged 18 years or older at the time of consent
3) Patients who have received a thorough explanation of this study and, after fully understanding it, have provided their own voluntary written consent
2. Inpatient EVL Group (Retrospective)
1) Patients who underwent EVL as an inpatient at this facility between April 2022 and March 2025

除外基準/Key exclusion criteria

以下のいずれかの条件に該当する者は対象としない。
①　外来EVL群 (前向き)
1) 研究責任医師又は、研究分担医師により、出血リスクが高く、入院加療が望ましいと判断された患者（静脈瘤の評価がF3あるいはRC3以上の患者）
2) 通常診療で検査を行う患者のうち、研究責任医師又は、研究分担医師が本研究を安全に実施するのに不適当と判断した患者
②　入院EVL群 (後ろ向き)
1) 同時に他の治療(EISなど)を併用した例
2) 1回のみ施行で中断された例
3）情報公開文書を通じて本研究への参加の拒否を表明した者

Patients who meet any of the following criteria will not be eligible for this study.
1. Outpatient EVL Group (Prospective)
1. Patients who are deemed by the principal investigator or subinvestigator to be at high risk of bleeding and who should be hospitalized (patients with a varicose vein evaluation of F3 or RC3 or higher).
2. Patients undergoing regular medical care who the principal investigator or subinvestigator deems unsuitable for the safe implementation of this study.
2. Inpatient EVL Group (Retrospective)
1. Patients who received other treatments (e.g., EIS) concomitantly.
2. Patients whose treatment was discontinued after only one treatment.
3. Patients who expressed refusal to participate in this study through a disclosure document.
