中学生を対象に、持続可能で健康的な食生活の定着化に向けた食育を行い、地球環境に配慮した食生活への関心・知識および実践率の向上、中学校給食の残食率ゼロ、持続可能な朝食摂取に対する意識やバランスの良い食事摂取率の向上をめざすことを目的とする。
