目的/Objectives

日本語
本研究の目的は、大気汚染（特に揮発性有機化合物（VOCs）や微小粒子状物質（PM2.5）など）の曝露と、加齢黄斑変性、ドライアイ、結膜炎、糖尿病網膜症などの眼疾患との関連性を明らかにすることである。疫学的データおよび生物学的メカニズムの両面から解析を行い、大気汚染による酸化ストレスや炎症反応が眼疾患の発症・進行に及ぼす影響を評価する。眼の感染に関しても、洗眼薬や、眼瞼に付着した粒子を培養することにより、調査する。

The objective of this study is to clarify the relationship between exposure to air pollutants particularly volatile organic compounds and fine particulate matter and the development or progression of ocular diseases such as age related macular degeneration dry eye disease conjunctivitis and diabetic retinopathy This research aims to evaluate both epidemiological associations and underlying biological mechanisms with a focus on oxidative stress and inflammatory responses induced by air pollution Additionally ocular surface infections will be investigated through ocular surface washes and the culture of particles collected from the eyelid margins
