電子文献検索は、MEDLINE（PubMed）、Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials（CENTRAL）、Google Scholar、ICHUSHI-Web（日本医学抄録学会の日本語検索エンジン）を用いて行った。英語と日本語で書かれた論文を対象とした。2名の査読者が、「有棘縫合糸」、「無有棘縫合糸」、「腹部手術」、「転帰」というキーワードを用いてすべての研究を独立にスクリーニングした。

An electronic literature search was performed using MEDLINE (PubMed), the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Google Scholar, and ICHUSHI-Web (a Japanese search engine of the Japan Medical Abstracts Society). Articles written in English and Japanese were considered eligible. Two reviewers independently screened all studies using the keyword terms "barbed suture", "knotless suture", "abdominal surgery", and "outcome".

このシステマティックレビューとメタ解析は、Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses（PRISMA）2020ガイドラインに従って行われた。研究デザインの性質上、機関倫理審査承認を得る必要性は免除された。
電子文献検索は、MEDLINE（PubMed）、Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials（CENTRAL）、Google Scholar、ICHUSHI-Web（日本医学抄録学会の日本語検索エンジン）を用いて行った。英語と日本語で書かれた論文を適格とした。2名の査読者が独立して、「有棘縫合糸」、「無有棘縫合糸」、『腹部手術』、「転帰 」というキーワードを用いてすべての研究をスクリーニングした。最初の検索で見落とされた可能性のある追加研究を特定するため、該当するすべての出版物の参考文献リストを手作業で調べた。この相互参照法は、さらに関連する出版物が見つからなくなるまで繰り返された。

This systematic review and meta-analysis was performed in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. The need to obtain institutional ethical review approval was waived because of the nature of the study design.
An electronic literature search was performed using MEDLINE (PubMed), the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Google Scholar, and ICHUSHI-Web (a Japanese search engine of the Japan Medical Abstracts Society). Articles written in English and Japanese were considered eligible. Two reviewers independently screened all studies using the keyword terms "barbed suture", "knotless suture", "abdominal surgery", and "outcome." The reference lists of all pertinent publications were examined manually to identify any additional studies that might have been overlooked in the initial search. This cross-referencing approach was repeated until no further relevant publications could be found.
