脳死下臓器提供が比較的多く行われている施設が参加する多機関共同後ろ向き研究を実施し、脳死下臓器提供が行われた症例を対象として、患者背景や管理方法、更に施設の体制や特徴を調査することにより脳死下臓器提供に至るまでのプロセスを明らかにすることを目的とする。

参加16施設を研究期間中の脳死下臓器提供件数に基づいて2群に分け、脳死下臓器提供に至るプロセスの違いを包括的に検証した。

To analyze differences in organ donation practices among institutions with varying levels of donation activity, we categorized the 16 participating institutions into 2 groups based on the number of brain-dead organ donations performed during the study period. A threshold of 14 or more donations was used for the highly active group, while 13 or fewer donations defined as the moderately active group, ensuring a balanced case distribution between the 2 groups.
